Travel Leaders Network Annual Conference

This spring, we attended the annual Travel Leaders Network conference, held at the Gaylord Resort in Chula Vista, California. The resort, located just a quarter of a mile from San Diego Bay, provided an impressive setting for the event, with a large convention center attached to the property.



The conference brought together 2,200 attendees, along with numerous travel partners from across the industry. One afternoon was dedicated to a trade show, where we had the opportunity to meet with key suppliers and learn more about the products, services, and experiences they offer for our clients.

Over four days, we participated in presentations and held productive meetings with travel partners, peers, and colleagues. The conference provided valuable insight into current developments in the travel industry, including cruises, river cruises, land packages, and all-inclusive resorts.

It was also encouraging to see how our travel partners continue to enhance their offerings and strengthen their ability to serve travelers with quality, value, and memorable experiences.



For us, the conference concluded with a surprise honor: we were presented with the “Distinctive Voyager” award. This recognition is awarded annually to a Distinctive Voyages host in acknowledgment of excellence in meeting the program’s goals.

One part of cruising that everyone looks forward to is onboard dining. But if you’re cruising with children, you may wonder how well the ship will meet their gastronomic needs. In short, don’t worry. Cruise ship chefs and servers know how to work with diners who might be a bit fussy, a little messy, and always hungry. One aspect of cruise ship dining that’s great for kids is the variety of dining spots and food available. Sailing on a Ship Within a Ship

Is a “ship within a ship” for you? Usually found on larger cruise ships, a ship-within-a-ship provides a higher level of service and dedicated spaces for passengers who sail in designated cabins. The spaces might include a luxury pool, lounge, and restaurant that are separated from the bustle of the rest of the ship. While ship-within-a-ship guests are welcome all around the vessel, only they can use the exclusive spaces. They may also qualify for special amenities like complimentary or discounted beverages, Wi-Fi access, spa treatments, concierge services, and more.
